What this extension does

WebLinkBuzz is a Chrome extension that displays domain authority metrics (from Ahrefs, Moz, and Majestic) and guest post marketplace pricing for the website you are currently visiting. When you click the extension icon, it reads the domain name of your active tab and queries the WebLinkBuzz API to retrieve publicly available SEO data.

Data we transmit

The only data sent to our servers is the domain name of the tab you are viewing at the moment you open the extension popup.

  • IP address or geographic location

Permissions used

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each with a specific and limited purpose:

PermissionWhy it is needed
tabsTo read the URL of the active tab so the domain name can be extracted. No browsing history is accessed.
activeTabTo access the currently open tab only when the user clicks the extension icon. No background access.
host_permissions
(weblinkbuzz.com)
To send the detected domain name to the WebLinkBuzz API and retrieve metrics and pricing data in return.
storageTo cache the last fetched domain metrics locally for 60 seconds so the popup loads instantly on repeat visits without a redundant API call.

Local storage & caching

The extension uses Chrome's storage API to cache the metrics response for the last viewed domain locally on your device for up to 60 seconds. This allows the popup to load instantly on repeat visits without making a redundant API call.

No personal data, browsing history, or identifiable information is stored. The cache is cleared automatically after 60 seconds and never sent to any third party.

Third-party services

Metrics displayed in the extension (Domain Rating, Traffic, Domain Authority, Trust Flow, Citation Flow) are sourced from third-party SEO data providers including Ahrefs, Moz, Majestic, and Semrush. Marketplace pricing data reflects publicly listed offer prices from various link-building platforms.

No user data is shared with any of these third parties. The extension communicates exclusively with the WebLinkBuzz API.

Children's privacy

This extension is designed for SEO professionals, digital marketers, and link-building practitioners. It is not directed at or intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
